Robert J. Maley devoted countless hours to pro bono service in Richmond, Indiana during his 50-year legal career.   He was particularly involved in assisting youth, the elderly, and minorities, including Richmond's growing Hispanic community.   The Robert Maley Pro Bono Foundation was formed in 2005 after his death to continue his legacy of distinguished and devoted pro bono service in Richmond.  The Foundation was approved by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) entity in 2005.

The Foundation's mission is to support pro bono services in Richmond through creation and administration of a pro bono clinic, recruitment of volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono services, and education and outreach to community residents in need of legal services.    The Foundation presently employs one attorney and one paralegal, and hosts office hours for Richmond citizens of limited income with unmet legal needs every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Persons in the Richmond community who have unmet legal needs in non-criminal matters and who do not have the financial resources for legal counsel may contact the Foundation for possible assistance.   The Foundation can be contacted by email at jmaley@robertmaleyprobono.org, mail to 712 E.
